The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) is certified ISO 9001: 2015 from Worldwide Quality Assurance (WQA). The ISO 9001: 2015 certification is the latest version of ISO management that BAZNAS got in early 2018.

"Hopefully this will be a proof that BAZNAS organizes its management well, transparently and accountably, so that people can trust BAZNAS," said Deputy BAZNAS, Arifin Purwakananta to Republika.co.id at the Ministry of Religious Affairs RI Office in Jakarta on Tuesday (16/1).

Arifin said, WQA is a fairly reputable institution in Indonesia. WQA also gives certifications to other leading companies and institutions in Indonesia. BAZNAS earned ISO since 2007, but a new version of ISO 9001: 2015 was just released in early 2018.

He explained, by obtaining ISO 9001: 2015 certification, it means BAZNAS has fulfilled the principles of quality. Quality of collection, management and distribution of zakat. Society sure would want to know how the BAZNAS is, so BAZNAS makes itself certified. Then, BAZNAS got ISO 9001: 2015 certification so that it can improve public trust to BAZNAS.

"It means that all existing systems within (BAZNAS) have followed the principles of quality management so that it can be trusted by people, this is the evidence of BAZNAS vision to be accountable and transparent," he said.
