Center of Strategic Studies, the National Board of Zakat (Puskas BAZNAS) conducts Zakat Village Index (IDZ) implementation to the mapping of village potential in various regions of Indonesia. The index aims to assess feasibility places that will be used as zakat community empowerment programs.

On Thursday (08/18) Puskas represented by Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal held the IDZ assessment in Kalimati village, Japara sub-district, Kuningan, West Java. The one of a remote village in Kuningan, located in a mountain valley area which can not be reached by public transport.

Some findings of this survey are: (1) The majority people have permanent buildings, partially non-permanent, ie: tiles and non-floored; Kalimati Village has agricultural potential especially beans. Most of Kalimati Village population are farmers; (2) Based on interviews, this village has a good development process category, but because of market access difficulties, many of commodities not be able to be maximized; (3) Previously this place has successful experience of the community empowerment by BAZNAS via goat breeding program.
