On Monday, March 25, 2024, a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) was held to discuss Indonesia's Zakat Roadmap. The event was attended by the National Board of Zakat and Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia which aims to develop a more effective strategy in the management of zakat in Indonesia. The FGD held at 101 Urban Hotel Jakarta is an important step in the effort to improve the management of zakat that is more effective and efficient. The roadmap discussed will serve as a guide for zakat institutions in Indonesia to manage and allocate zakat funds in a more targeted manner.

In the FGD, various strategic topics were discussed, including the renewal of zakat regulations, improving the quality of zakat fund management, optimization in zakat collection and distribution, as well as efforts to increase public awareness of the importance of zakat as an instrument of social development.

Recognizing the important role of zakat in social and economic development, FGD participants committed to work together to enhance the effectiveness of zakat management in Indonesia. Several concrete steps were also agreed upon, including increasing synergy between zakat institutions, government, and private sector to support programs that have positive social impact. The participants agreed to continue collaborating in formulating policies and strategies that support the sustainable growth of zakat and benefit the wider society.

With the FGD, the hope for the realization of more effective zakat management and a positive impact on Indonesia's social and economic progress is increasingly wide open. All parties are expected to continue to be actively involved in supporting these efforts for the common welfare.
