KUALA LUMPUR – On September 26, 2016, the Center of Strategic Studies (Puskas) BAZNAS establish cooperation in zakat research and development with Pusat Pungutan Zakat (PPZ) MAIWP, Malaysia. This marked signing of cooperation at Headquarters of PPZ Kuala Lumpur, Monday (26/9) afternoon.
Deputy Director Puskas BAZNAS, Muhammad Hasbi representing the signing ceremony said it was a step forward for BAZNAS to establish this cooperation with zakat institutions that have a good reputation. This expected to have a significant impact for the zakat development in Indonesia.
"The cooperation to become a research and development partnership in zakat. It is very nicely done with a good reputation zakat organizations, because in the future , standardization of zakat management will be higher. Therefore, we should not be left behind with the others, "he said.
PPZ Kuala Lumpur deputy executive officer, Amran Hazali welcomed the cooperation is to support and encourage the implementation of zakat quality reporting, accelerating the development of zakat and cooperation in scientific activities in the field of zakat.
Addition to PPZ, Puskas BAZNAS has also sent the letter of intent (LoI) to LZS (Lembaga Zakat Selangor) MAIS, JAWHAR (Jabatan Wakaf, Zakat and Haji) and IKaZ (Zakat Research Institute Malaysia) in the framework of a zakat research and development partnership. Related to that, LZS, Jawhar and IKaZ very appreciative regarding the content of LoI initiated by Puskas BAZNAS.
