- On October 17, 2019, coinciding with the World Poverty Eradication Day, the BAZNAS Strategic Studies Center (Puskas BAZNAS) officially launched the BAZNAS Welfare Index (IKB).
- In 2024, there will be significant modifications to the components of the IKB to adapt to current developments and needs. These changes cover various aspects that are more detailed and relevant in measuring the impact of the zakat program.
- IKB Version 2 consists of 4 composite indices, namely the BPS (Central Statistics Agency) standard Poverty Index, CIBEST Welfare Index, Time Taken to Exit Poverty, and Zakat Utilization Modification Index (IPZ).
- Recognizing the complexity of zakat distribution activities carried out by zakat management institutions, the calculation of the BAZNAS Welfare Index (IKB) integrates several calculation standards to provide a comprehensive picture. These standards include the Extreme Poverty Line, BPS Poverty Line, average Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), Had Kifayah, and Nisab Zakat.
- The more comprehensive zakat impact assessment measurement tool needs to be supported by several terms and conditions for calculating zakat-based poverty alleviation.
