Bandung, [10 January 2025] — The National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS RI) marked a significant milestone in inclusive education by launching the "Gerakan Cinta Disabilitas" (Love for Disabilities Movement) at Yayasan Rumah Qur'an Isyaroh. This initiative aims to empower children with disabilities by enhancing their access to quality education, particularly in Quranic studies.
During the event, BAZNAS RI announced a special scholarship program for students with hearing impairments. The scholarships will provide financial support to facilitate adaptive learning environments and specialized educational tools. This effort reflects BAZNAS's commitment to fostering inclusivity and addressing the educational challenges faced by children with disabilities.
Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Prof. Dr. Noor Achmad, emphasized the movement's importance in bridging educational disparities. “This initiative not only supports the disabled community but also promotes social awareness about the need for inclusivity and compassion in education,” he stated.
The launch event featured Quran recitation performances by students with hearing impairments, showcasing their remarkable talents and resilience. It concluded with the distribution of educational materials tailored for their unique learning needs.
