The National Board of Zakat  (BAZNAS) of Indonesia held the 1446 H Tarhib Ramadhan event under the theme "Cahaya Zakat: Bringing Miracles to Muzaki and Mustahik" at the BAZNAS RI Building in Jakarta on Monday (24/02/2025).

The event was attended by 1,000 deaf and hearing friends from across Indonesia, as well as BAZNAS leaders and staff from provincial, district, and city offices who joined virtually. Additionally, Qur'an sign language instructors under BAZNAS’s guidance also participated.

Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA., expressed great enthusiasm and joy in welcoming the holy month of Ramadhan, a month full of Allah’s forgiveness. BAZNAS aims to accompany this sacred time by encouraging everyone to engage in acts of kindness.

"This year’s theme, Cahaya Zakat (The Light of Zakat), symbolizes the divine light of Allah SWT that reaches all His servants, especially humankind. By participating in this Tarhib event, may Allah SWT grant us His blessings and guide us towards His light," said Kiai Noor.

He further explained that zakat inclusivity is like a light that illuminates and provides guidance to both muzaki (donors) and mustahik (recipients).

Kiai Noor also expressed his hope that Cahaya Zakat would serve as a beacon of light that brightens people's lives.

"Through this Tarhib event, no one should feel left in the dark, nor should anyone feel deprived of opportunities. Our efforts are for everyone, including people with disabilities, with the spirit of Cahaya Zakat—by the people, for the people," he added.

He extended his gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event, especially those who reached out to deaf friends, ensuring the event’s success and reinforcing the commitment to meeting community needs.

The 1446 H Tarhib Ramadhan also featured the launch of the book "Cahaya Zakat: The Miracles of Muzaki and Mustahik" by Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA. The event included an introduction to and recitation of Qur’an in sign language, as well as an update on BAZNAS’s humanitarian aid packaging for Palestine in collaboration with Shuna'u Al-Hayah/Life Makers Foundation in Egypt.
