Bandung, October 29, 2025 – The BAZNAS of West Java Province held an online Coordination Meeting (Rakor) for the National Zakat Index (IZN) 2025 on Wednesday (29/10/2025). The event was attended by leaders and representatives from BAZNAS City/Regency branches throughout West Java, as well as key stakeholders from the central and provincial levels.

This coordination meeting holds high strategic value, following the official inclusion of the IZN as an outcome indicator in the Ministry of Home Affairs' Regional Development Information System (SIPD) with code 001198. This marks a major step in integrating zakat into regional development planning documents.

The Director of ZIS-DSKL Study and Development of BAZNAS RI, Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal, Ph.D, in his presentation emphasized the importance of collaboration between four main pillars for successful zakat management. According to him, "there are 4 main pillars of zakat management in the regions: BAZNAS (National Zakat Agency), KNEKS/KDEKS (National/Regional Committee for Islamic Economy and Finance), the Ministry of Religious Affairs/Regional Office, and Bappenas/Bappeda (National/Regional Development Planning Agency)."

This synergy was reinforced by the presence of these stakeholders. The Director of Sharia Economic Ecosystem Infrastructure of KNEKS, Dr. Sutan Emir Hidayat, MBA, asserted in his presentation that "zakat is not just worship, but an instrument of national development." He added that the integration of IZN into the SIPD and RPJMD (Regional Medium-Term Development Plan) would strengthen the sharia economy, with Regional Governments and KDEKS as the main drivers of the ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the Head of the West Java Provincial Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, H. Dudu Rohman, S.Ag., M.Si., highlighted the importance of collaboration in strengthening the data governance of Zakat Management Organizations (OPZ).

The Chairman of BAZNAS West Java Province, Dr. H. Anang Jauharuddin, M.M.Pd., in his opening remarks, motivated all BAZNAS branches in his region to be serious about inputting IZN data. "The IZN is an important component that we must fill in as proof of the reality of zakat management in our respective regions," he affirmed.

In addition to discussions and strengthening sessions, the event continued with a technical session. Dita Anggraini and Nur Adibah, as Researchers from the BAZNAS National ZIS-DSKL Study and Development Directorate, presented the results of the Zakat Management Evaluation Assessment based on the IZN's Macro and Micro Dimensions. The event concluded with the filling of the 2024 IZN questionnaire and the 2025 Zakat Impact Assessment (KDZ) questionnaire by all IZN PICs (Persons in Charge) via the SIGMA Z application. This step serves as concrete proof of the commitment of BAZNAS throughout West Java to provide accurate and credible data for better regional development planning.
